Answering The Most Common Employment Law Questions
When Oregon residents come to Loren Collins P.C. with employment-related problems, their first question is usually “What types of cases do you take?”
I offer representation in a variety of employment law matters, including:
- Wrongful termination
The second question clients usually ask is “Do I have a case?”
In the area of employment law, this question is not one that is easy to answer. In fact, employment law cases require that I do extensive screening before answering that question. Because of the careful review that is required, it is important for you to understand what to expect from the process.
What To Expect From Your Initial Consultation
When you come to my law office for your initial consultation, we will sit down, and you will need to explain your situation in detail. You will need to answer any questions I have, so I have a clear picture of what you have endured. If you have any evidence that helps prove your case, you will need to bring it to your consultation. The purpose of this initial consultation is so I can form a perspective about your specific situation and determine if I can assist you.
You Have A Case. What Comes Next?
Once I have completed the screening, I will give you my initial opinion about your situation and let you know if I am willing to take your case. If I am willing to take your case, we will begin to build a strategy. Over half of the employment cases I take end up being filed in court. While over 90% of those cases end in settlements before trial, a lawyer must prepare with a trial in mind.
